BABY KIWIS!!!!

This afternoon, one of the first days it hasn't rained all day since I've been in NZ, had something else extremely rare in store...some of our neighbors work with the New Zealand Department of Conservation and had gathered some baby kiwi birds (endangered bird and national symbol native to NZ) from a nearby island where they breed to bring them to the area where I currently live. They have been bringing and protecting kiwis here for over ten years, and the NZ government came to them and asked them to carry on doing so. Kiwi birds are nocturnal, so they were super sleepy at 2pm and could barely keep their eyes open!
